Seeking Biblical Relationships

About Me

Hi all, my name is Brandon, and my wife is Kimberly. I am very excited to do this blog and will be doing a vlog to go with it on Youtube soon. Preparation has been nuts! I retired early from my career to begin an online ministry. Man, this is the most frightening thing I could have thought of doing! Anyways, back to about us. I am 41 years old. I have had a hectic life. I have been through a lot, and God was there the entire time! I’ll begin with a glimpse into my childhood. My childhood was like a lot of yours out there. I was mentally, emotionally, and physically abused until my teenage years. I was lost, angry, and confused. I was beaten and molested into my early teenage years by not only my parents but strangers who took advantage of me. Satan will always try and keep you down, but Christ will never leave you! Deuteronomy 31:8 “The Lord Himself goes before you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

At 17 years old, I visited a church, Vineyard Church, in Louisiana. There I met Christ face to face. I got saved and began working with the youth. That was in 1998, and I have been running with God ever since. I am not saying I had it all figured out by any means. I was young and made millions of mistakes, and I still do. I married a woman like my mom and had three children with her in 21 years. That ended in divorce, and yes, I have forgiven myself, and God has forgiven me as well. I never stopped trying to love others and serve Christ in all I do. I served in the Army until 2007, when I joined law enforcement. I was in law enforcement for 15 years. I used it as a ministry and loved almost every aspect, but I used law enforcement as a crutch and allowed it to take over my life. It was a fantastic experience, though; thank you, Jesus, for that opportunity.

After 15 years in law enforcement and an abusive marriage, I tried hard to find a fight that would take my life. I wanted that shoot-out that would bring me to Jesus. I was looking to end my life at someone else’s hands. God didn’t have it, though! At the moment I was deciding whether or not to find this fight, my now wife, Kimberly, texted me. We had never even talked before other than in passing. This text prevented me from stopping a car I believed would have been that fight. No one can tell me that wasn’t God! We courted for two years before marrying. This blog stems from our relationship. We wanted a biblical connection, God guided us in this search, and this blog is the result.

Take this journey with us. We do not have it all figured out, but we will share what we have learned through God and His Word as a couple. We also would love to hear from you, our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

I look forward to hearing from all of you, taking the wisdom, and passing it on to others.

It is vital that we love God first

Mark 12: 30 says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all of your mind and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5 confirms Mark 12:30. Jesus made it pretty easy to see. He says the law is loving God and your neighbor as we love ourselves.

It is time for a change

Modern-day HUSBAND, DAD, AND LEADER. Biblical manhood in modern times is becoming extinct. The bar, if one, has been set low if not destroyed. This wasn’t always the case, but men seemed to have lost their way, causing a downward spiral from which we could not recover. I wonder if it’s our politically correct culture
